Go Fly Fishing UK was formed in June 2002 by current joint proprietors Dave Martin and Steve Rhodes (fishing friends for nearly 30 years). Both are passionate Trout and Grayling fly fishers and both had long successful business careers before deciding in 2002 to become full time professional fly fishing guides and qualified fly fishing instructors and to run Go Fly Fishing UK.

Dave runs the business in the south of England and has himself guided over 900 client days on the chalkstream rivers, including well over 400 days on the River Test. Steve has always lived in Yorkshire and is based in a Yorkshire Dales fly fishers paradise. He runs the business in the north of England, Wales and Scotland.

Dave and Steve are both Orvis Endorsed Fly Fishing Guides as are a number of our other excellent fly fishing guides. As well as Dave and Steve Go Fly Fishing UK has over twenty other excellent fly fishing guides based around the UK. All, as well as being highly experienced fly fishers, are also trained and qualified fly fishing instructors (see below if you are a guide/instructor and might be interested in joining the Go Fly Fishing UK team).

The two main services offerings of Go Fly Fishing UK are fly fishing lessons and guided fly fishing days.

Since its formation in 2002 Go Fly Fishing UK has become very successful and highly regarded within the UK fly fishing scene. As at winter 2012/3 we have now taken well over 4000 bookings and approaching 7000 people have fished with us. We have achieved almost 100% customer satisfaction and it is very rare for our clients to have fishless days with us. In its May 2011 edition 'The Field' magazine listed Go Fly Fishing UK as one of the Top 10 fly fishing schools in the UK and it highlighted that we provide fly 'fishing tuition at 100 venues across the country'.

Guide / Instructor Opportunities

Go Fly Fishing UK is always on the look out for good new fly fishing guides and instructors to join our team. We prefer all our guides/instructors to hold a recognised fly fishing teaching qualification/accreditation, for example, AAPGAI, Level 2, GAIA or REFFIS. We also want our guides to be experienced, skilled and passionate fly fishers. It is also essential that you hold public liability insurance to teach/guide fishing.
