The staff of Go Fly Fishing UK are all keen fly fishers. Whilst we have enjoyed fly fishing in many locations around the world we still think that the UK has many world-class countryside fly fishing locations. We want to be out there ourselves, and do so on every possible occasion. We want to share our knowledge and love of our favourite UK fly fishing locations with you.
We have many years experience of organising and participating in fly fishing in the UK and that means we know well the places we recommend, be it areas of the country, fly fishing waters, hotels, pubs, etc. We have visited them recently and many times over the years.
It’s not sufficient just to know which districts in the UK are the best fly fishing locations. To make the very most of your valuable vacation time and to go home having had a thoroughly enjoyable time, you need to know exactly where to go. Which are the best stretches of the best waters (and how do you get access to them), which are the most scenic fishing locations, the friendliest pubs, the best restaurants, etc..... Our personal experience can take you to these places.
You also need to know when to go. Many locations have best times of the year to fish. For example some waters are great in early and late season but poor in the summer, whereas others are at their best in the summer. Don’t forget that the UK has excellent winter Grayling fishing. We know the best times from many years of personal experience.
Access to the best UK fly fishing locations is not easy. The majority of UK waters are private and the unprepared visitor will not get to fish in these places. Through our knowledge and contacts we can provide you with access to the best fly fishing locations so that you make the very most of your limited vacation time in the UK.
The UK has excellent fly fishing guides and we know many of them. Not only will they ‘put you onto the fish’ but they will also add a real local dimension to your fly fishing experience. It's your choice whether or not you wish to be guided but if you do then once we know your chosen location(s) we will arrange the guide(s) for you.

The days tuition in the Yorkshire Dales was a Christmas present from my family and I can honestly it was the best present I've ever had!

A Red Letter Day on the autumnal River Itchen - the best day's fishing of any sort I have ever had. Thank's to Dave Martin - he has the patience of Job - who spent most of the first hour or so teaching me (a novice fly-fisher) the do's and don't of casting. The weather was perfect and there was a welcome fly hatch. Dave regularly changed fly and tippet length for me during the day to 'match the hatch'. Result? A total of 22 fish on both dry fly and nymph. A day I'll never forget.
