What should I book - fly fishing lesson or guided day?

If the gift recipient is a beginner introduce them to the art of fly fishing by buying them a fly fishing lesson (see Options 1 to 5 below). Our friendly, experienced, qualified instructors teach fly casting techniques, how to catch fish and also advise on suitable tackle and places to go fly fishing. But more than that our fly fishing lessons are real fishing experiences intended to be fun as well as instructive and to give all participants a very good chance of catching some fish during the tuition. The majority of the time is spent actually fishing.

In 2011 'The Field' magazine listed Go Fly Fishing UK as one of the Top 10 fly fishing schools in the UK and it highlighted that we provide 'fishing tuition at 100 venues across the country'.

If the gift recipient is already a competent fly fisher then it would be a guided day that would be most appropriate for them as a gift (see Options 6 to 11 below). Our guides are experienced professionals who take fishers to excellent locations, ensure that they fish in the very best places and also advise them on the correct local fishing techniques and flies to maximise their chances of catching fish, learning new fly fishing techniques and to having a very special enjoyable day.

Memorable Birthday / 'Thank you' / Anniversary gifts

Our gift vouchers are open-dated, valid for two years from the date of issue and can be used at a very large number of fly fishing locations in England, Wales and Scotland. We have ten options for you to choose from:

Fly Fishing Gift Voucher Options

For Beginners - Fly fishing lessons (usually on lakes)

For Competent fly fishers - Guided fly fishing days (usually on rivers)

With our Any value - Completely flexible gift voucher you choose the value - £75 or over - and the recipient can use the gift voucher for that value against any of the fly fishing days that we do in any part of the UK. So our gift vouchers can be for any value and you can choose to pay for a full or half-day of fly fishing or to provide a contribution towards the total cost. And we offer at least a 50% discount for second and subsequent fishers participating in the same private fly fishing day or half-day (up to a maximum of 3 additional people). Included in the cost we would provide you with one gift voucher to give to each gift recipient. Note also that all gift vouchers are upgradeable by the gift voucher recipient, eg. from a half-day to a full day or by adding additional people to the day/half-day. We will just quote to the gift voucher recipient the incremental cost of their chosen option.

We do not charge VAT in any of our prices..

Part of our gift service is to provide you with a full colour personalised "Happy Birthday" / "Happy Anniversary" / "Thank you" / "Happy Christmas" gift voucher which contains details of the fly fishing gift that you have given. This gift voucher can be sent to you or direct to the gift recipient either by post (as a glossy printed gift voucher) or by email (as an editable MS Word file that you or they can print out) - see examples below. Either way it contains our contact details. You give it to the present recipient and they then contact us to book their preferred location and date.

Location exclusions - All our gift vouchers are valid for use at all our locations. The Option 6, 9 and 10 prices are not valid on rivers in Hampshire, Berkshire, Wiltshire and the Cotswolds in the April to October season.  Use the Option 8 price for a River Test or River Itchen day or call or email us for a price quote. River locations in the south of England will require payment of an upgrade charge (because fishing access charges are higher here than in other parts of the UK). The amount of this upgrade charge will depend on the specific location chosen and on the date. Please contact us for an exact quotation.

Booking a fly fishing gift voucher with us is very easy. Which ever way you choose to contact us please let us know which gift voucher option (or value) you wish the voucher to be for and also let us know if you would prefer to receive the voucher by post (please specify which postal voucher option you require and your full postal address) or email. Finally so that we can personalise the gift voucher please let us know the Christian name of the present recipient, the occasion of the gift (Christmas, birthday, anniversary, thank you, etc.) and if there is any special greeting message that you would like us to put onto the voucher.

A £75 booking deposit is required at the time of booking with the balance of the cost becoming payable once the date of the fishing has been agreed with the gift recipient. You can pay in full if you prefer. See our Booking Information web page for payment options.
