The best in Fly Fishing Lessons and Tuition

Go Fly Fishing UK provide fly fishing lessons throughout England, Scotland and Wales. We have vastly more location choices than any other UK fly fishing tuition provider. Click here to see a full list of our tuition locations » 'The Field' magazine has listed Go Fly Fishing UK as one of the Top 10 fly fishing schools in the UK.

Our fly fishing tuition days are great fun and the instruction very effective, they take place on first class and often exclusive fly fishing lakes or rivers. All the necessary equipment is supplied including rods, reels, waders, flies etc. These are real exciting fly fishing experiences and for the vast majority of the time tuition is being delivered while our pupils are actually fishing and most people manage to catch a few good Trout during their lesson.

All of our fly fishing instructors are trained to teach fly fishing and all hold nationally recognised fly fishing coaching qualifications and are licenced, insured, CRB checked and have first aid training. When choosing who to take your fly fishing lesson with please check that they are trained and qualified instructors - all of our Go Fly Fishing UK instructors are.

Beginners lessons are usually on a one to one basis or with small groups of family or friends and normally take place over a full day although shorter sessions, such as a half-day of tuition, can be arranged. In our experience this is a much better way to learn than in a large group of unknown individuals typical of many fly fishing “courses”. For larger groups of family or friends we provide a minimum of one instructor to every four people.

There is no doubt a fly fishing lesson is a huge shortcut to success and can eliminate months if not years of frustration trying to teach yourself. By starting fly casting using the correct technique will enable most people with a little practice to become a competent caster in a pretty short space of time and to enjoy their fishing more.

For the more experienced fly fisher the emphasis would be on fly fishing techniques and methods and the day would be tailored to their individual requirements. All techniques for both rivers and stillwaters can be taught.

Cost

A full day one-to-one private fly fishing lesson for one person costs £169 in the November to March season and £199 in the April to October season and half-days cost from £119. The price per person is considerably lower when two to four people take their lesson together and share the services of one fly fishing instructor.

Thanks again for a great day -you were a very patient coach. The trout tasted great - all the better, of course, for having been caught by my own fair hand!!
