Grayling offer great sporting opportunities for the river fisher.
From late-August onwards to mid-March they provide excellent sport    to the dry fly, wet fly and nymph fisher ….and let’s not forget trotting, preferably with a free-running centre-pin reel.

Go Fly Fishing UK have particular strengths in providing Grayling
fishing holidays, short breaks, guiding, tuition and days out fishing.
Both the directors of the company have been keen Grayling fishers
for over 30 years.  Steve is Chairman of The Grayling Society
and Dave has been an active member for over ten years.

Steve is pictured to the right with a 2lb+ Welsh River Wye Grayling caught in October 2005 on a Klinkhammer dry fly!

All of the areas of Britain promoted by Go Fly Fishing UK have some excellent Grayling waters
(see Locations page & Map). In addition we also know well many other superb UK Grayling
fishing locations.

As autumn moves into winter the best tactics for the Grayling fly fisher change. Especially in the
freestone rivers of the north and west the dry fly reduces in effectiveness in favour of heavily
weighted nymphs and trotting. In the crystal clear chalk streams of the south of England it is still
possible to catch Grayling on a dry fly even through the very coldest of the winter weather.
However even here we prefer sight fishing with a weighted nymph.

So just because the Trout season has ended don’t pack away your fly fishing tackle.  Give us a               call or send us an email and we’ll be happy to organise a superb Grayling fishing trip for you.

We can also offer guided Grayling fly fishing or trotting days.  You will learn a lot from our expert         guides and, weather permitting, will have a highly enjoyable day on the riverbank.
